It has not been half a year since Ouhel's last major exhibition and, in spite of that, the exhibition consisted of new works only. The apparent joy with which they were created documents the relentless power of the stream of inspiration springing from the painter's soul. Sometimes, the spring silently flows in colourful spaces, sometimes it changes into a waterfall of colour rain or even a snowstorm.
After the Indonesian storm which wildly seized Ouhel's canvases in the previous year after his visit to the exotic country, this is apparently a time of peace, from which new motifs suddenly sprouted like primroses from soil. They are new in this context, but connote with Ouhel's earlier work. As if, having blossomed once, they were dreaming and resting in the painter's mind to unexpectedly spring again when their time comes. These are the playful sprouts following the Vegetatace (Vegetation) cycle from the 1980s. Elsewhere, they are reminiscent of Toronta (Torontos) from 2005 with their geometry and colour motifs.Even though the individual tones may seem familiar, Ouhel masterfully combines them in new melodious tunes in painting. Just see and listen.
